GIRLS WEEKEND AWAY AT RED ROOF RETREAT CHESLEY ONTARIO

RED ROOF RETREAT

After the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, it's nice to settle back into routine. Packing school lunches, booking meetings and spending hours a day in front a screen - it didn't take long for me to realize I needed some time away. What better way to refocus and recharge, than a girls' weekend away!? We packed up our gear, including snowshoes, and headed to the Red Roof Retreat.

Amenities at The Red Roof Retreat:

Don't judge a book by it's cover, this cabin is massive on the inside. It sleeps 10 guests with 2 queen beds upstairs in the loft, one double bed on the main floor and a queen bed and bunk beds on the bottom floor. There is also a day bed in the basement, perfect for reading a good book or as a spare bed.

The ping pong table in the basement is a great rainy day activity for kids. Or you can host a mini tournament where the loser cooks supper. Which isn't a huge loss because the main level kitchen is the perfect size, with everything at your fingertips. A fridge, microwave, oven/stove top, coffee maker and kettle are all there to let your inner chef shine. But most importantly... there is a dishwasher so you don't spend your time away cleaning.

The screened in porch is the perfect place cuddle up in your LongJohnny Rose and sip your morning coffee, or your Caesars at brunch. I love a good screened in porch, because that means you can enjoy the outdoors in all seasons, bug free!

After we spent the day snowshoeing through the 23 acres of trails on the property and making some maple taffy by the campfire, we came inside and enjoyed a hot bowl of chili and poured some cocktails to sip by the fireplace.

We indulged in some intuitively led yoga and tried our hand at some couples yoga as well while we were waiting for our face masks to set. It was a night full of side splitting laughter and heart-to-heart chats. It might've been the wine, the company, or the cabin, but whatever it was, it was the night away we were all craving.

Who would love staying here?

The Red Roof Retreat is a little slice of heaven tucked into a small corner of Bruce County. When we were leaving we were already planning who we were going to bring back with us. It's the perfect spot for a couple families or host another girls' weekend away.
