This has become a tradition I am 100% OK with keeping up.
We found Caroline+Jon at Homegrown Hideaway through the height of the pandemic and actually hosted a photo shoot at their gorgeous glampground in 2021. We just knew we needed to go back and experience this incredible spot for ourselves.
One night, fueled by wine and armed with a credit card, I booked the entire glampground. When I started Bear+Fox, I knew I wanted to bring friends+family on this crazy adventure, and enjoy the perks of the biz. (You just, write it off, right?) 10 people, one night away - recipe for a good time.
Carolyne came armed with her trusty Canon and we utilized the space for some promo photos. Which yes, is work. But when you jive so well with your team, it doesn't feel like work. We rode with the top down, played cornhole, enjoyed some bevvies, delicious treats, a river float and a dandy campfire to round out the night.
The weather was ideal - hot during the day and nice and cool at night. There's something about curling up next to a campfire in a pair of Terry Fox Joggers that is too perfect.
Amenities at Homegrown Hideaway
The accommodations are also drool worthy. The beds were above and beyond what I expected. As a kid who grew up sleeping on air mattresses and foamies, I wasn't expecting a great sleep in the canvas tent. I was wrong. The bed was so dreamy - I actually want to order one for our home!
The tents kept us dry, cool, and they were filled with everything we needed for our stay. We ordered breakfast baskets and enjoyed fresh blueberry pancakes, omelettes and scones. It was a fantastic way to kick off the summer.
If you're looking for a spot to get away from the city and enjoy some simple time in nature with gorgeous accommodations, be sure to check out Homegrown Hideaway in Port Dover. Tell Caroline and Jon that Bear+Fox sent ya!
